The NAWIC Greater Des Moines Chapter #80 is ran by a group of individuals who volunteer their time, talent and expertise to create a support system for women in the local construction industry and to encourage others to consider a career in construction.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Attract new members and retain the current membership.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Obtain/develop programs and construction-related projects to educate NAWIC members, to promote professional and personal growth and educate the community about NAWIC through outreach to students.

BLOCK KIDS
The Block Kids Building Program is a national building competition for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade and introduces them to construction careers.
Kids are asked to create something construction related without adult help or guidance using approved materials.

PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING COMMITTEE
Increase and maintain visibility and public awareness of NAWIC, to enhance our organization’s image and pursue unique marketing activities.

SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
Organize and plan all aspects of special events hosted by our Chapter including holiday parties, volunteer activities, networking/happy hour events, etc.

GOLF COMMITTE
Organize and plan the annual golf tournament hosted by our Chapter.

WIC WEEK COMMITTEE
Organize and plan Women in Construction (WIC) Week activities to raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in the construction industry and emphasize the growing role of women in the industry.

INDUSTRY APPRECIATION EVENT COMMITTEE
Organize an annual event to honor individuals and companies that support and advocate for women in construction, fostering industry relationships and celebrating the achievements of women in the field.
